Fish the productive waters of Cape Lookout, Beaufort Inlet and surrounding estuaries with an experienced local guide. We've got redfish (red drum, channel bass), bonito, false albacore, speckled trout, spanish mackerel, and blues.
We have good fishing for redfish through out the summer and fall. Spanish mackerel are available all summer with a late September-early October peak for big fish (4-6 lbs.). False albacore show in mid-October through early December.

Southwind Charters runs two different boats depending on the type of fishing and weather conditions. Our 19' Jones Brothers bateau was built locally for the shallow waters of the local estuaries. With a large forward casting deck, center console, and quiet Honda four-stroke power, this is the perfect boat for fishing the skinny water for redfish and speckled trout. For inlet and ocean fishing for false albacore, bonito, and spanish mackerel, we have a 23' deep-vee C-Hawk powered by a 200 hp Mercury, which provides fast and seaworthy access to the waters of Cape Lookout shoals and Beaufort Inlet.
We also run offshore fishing trips for tuna, dolphin, wahoo and billfish on a 54' Harris sportfisherman. Call about fly fishing for big dolphin! Call us for details.
